Thomas Holzwarth has served as the sole managing director of Rotan GmbH since 2020. With a degree in engineering and experience working on major international projects under his belt, the son of co-founder Bernd Holzwarth joined the management team at – and has since been ensuring, with passion and expertise, that Rotan remains prepared for the future.
In doing so, he can always rely on his executives from a wide variety of disciplines. Together, they drive the continued development of the family-owned business while remaining true to the ideals of an owner-managed company –, looking ahead to constantly readjust the sails for the right course into the future.

Rotan was founded in Dannstadt by Messrs. Heil, Hammer, Seegmüller, and Holzwarth as specialists in pipeline construction and tank storage.
Construction of the administrative and workshop building in Dannstadt.
Opening of the Leuna branch, headed by M. Wüsthof.
Launch of the Cleaning Technology Division under the leadership of Wolfgang Haucke.
Construction of the administration and workshop building in Leuna.
Expansion of the workshop building and renovation of a staff quarters wing in Leuna.
Construction and expansion of an administrative and workshop building for the cleaning technology division.
Acquisition of Thönnes+Grimus Rostock and opening of the Rostock branch under the leadership of Volker Zimmer.
Holm Herfurth will take over as head of the Leuna branch.
